- Issues and Research Needs in Simulation Development PDF 79KB
Synopsis: This report summarizes the findings of the Workshop on Simulation Development held in September 2007. About 28 researchers, representing 21 universities and research organizations, attended this meeting to identify and prioritize the research needed to advance the experimental simulation capabilities of the 15 equipment sites in the George E. Brown, Jr. Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES). Research needs were identified in three critical areas: hybrid simulation; data measurement, modeling, visualization, and knowledge generation; and integrated computational and physical simulation. The report is intended to guide researchers who may be interested in submitting proposals to address these research needs under the NSF NEES Research Program.
Source/sponsorship: This report is based on a workshop sponsored by NSF and organized by NEES Consortium, Inc. Workshop attendees prepared the report.
