- When will the next editions of ASCE/SEI 41, ASCE/SEI 7, and the International Codes be published?
Response: It is anticipated that ASCE/SEI 41-23 will be published by the end of 2023. Similarly, ASCE/SEI 7-28 should be published in 2028. The 2024 International Codes should be published in late 2023 or early 2024. These codes will reference ASCE/SEI 7-22 and ASCE/SEI 41-23. - Section C1.4: Edit commentary text as shown.
“Benchmarking addresses only the structural scope of work. Unless otherwise exempt, nonstructural components must still be considered, even for buildings shown as benchmarked in Section 3.3 of ASCE/SEI 41.”
Reason: This commentary sentence stems from RP 8, which did not address default benchmarking geological site hazards as was introduced in RP 10. Therefore, keeping geological site hazards here is not in alignment with the provision in Section 1.4.
